Copper Network Data Cabling and Wiring Categories

The proper application of data cabling and wiring (also referred to as network cabling & wiring) is imperative for successful business, government and academic network infrastructure installations. Copper data cabling and wiring systems are divided into categories or classes by the cabling standards organizations and use bandwidth needs to determine the proper customer application of each category of cabling. Standard categories for data cabling and wiring are outlined in the following table:

Cables and cord sets can be designed to customer specifications. Also available is a choice of robust jacket grades for bulk cabling to meet the different requirements of general, harsh and extreme conditions.
